Abuela's Song of the Day (Jul 30)

Yugyeom (GOT7) - Shall We Dance youtu.be/kxa7wKy-Kp8
cw: lens flares

I may be a little in love with the silly little shimmy shimmy moves he does. Professional dancers who? Like he does get some real moves in there, too, but the shimmies are so cute!

50 funky tracks for your streaming pleasure, No.3

                  Banbara. Shack UP

Banbara's classic up-tempo funk is a fabulous bit of stop-start funkiness. Great horn stabs & a propulsive rhythm section drive it forward backing the strident vocals. I love the sparseness of the production. And ff you can find it, there's a 12" version (later re-release) that edits the two halves together to make 6 minutes of funkiness.

The iconic heavy metal band is back, and so is the mockumentary format that made them famous. In the sequel to the 1984 cult classic, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, the band is reunited and it feels so good. Well, until they start arguing again....

Finally got the basement DAW recording area up and running after a couple weeks of finding a new computer. The last day trying to get the Scarlett 4i4 to work. Installed the wrong version drivers. Duh. Problem solved. I just about gave up and plugged in the Audient iD4. Also upgraded from Tracktion Waveform 8 to 13. Major learning curve. Put down a few test guitar tracks. Still gotta install some plugins.

What is a band or album which had many radio hit songs, but has since been reduced over time to maybe 1 or 2 songs that are “remembered”?

My favorite example of this effect is Smashing Pumpkins, which, near as I can figure, has been reduced to the song "1979" despite them having numerous songs that got radio time during the 90s.

The Nibun Chorus, a choir from Kaohsiung, won a gold medal.

The rhythm section on this record in particular sounds fantastic.
