We’re having Sunday morning coffee, listening to my Radio Paradise favorites channel on the Roku Streabar and Meg is mocking me because I haven’t rated any of the songs higher than a nine.

“Wait. THAT’S not a ten? An eight?! That’s all?! WHAT gets a ten?!”

      “Only a seven?!”

“Oh wow, a nine! A whole nine!”

      Sigh.

                Hello.

This is my nth attempt at staying on , after leaving Meta, X, and related noise.

I work around (dual-use) and , mostly from my hometown, , and sometimes from the Italian Alps (a long love story).

I don’t have a clear plan for what to do here.
Maybe existing, slowly, is already doing something.
Perhaps I’ll post occasionally — or not; who knows. I might leave again after a while.

I love , sacred places, reading both digital and paper , and listening to — all day long.

Somewhere in between, a walks across the keyboard and takes partial control :blobcatthisisfine:

                If that resonates, welcome.

Got the vocals comped on the new tune. Turned out better than I thought. Has a very retro vibe. Never done a song quite like this before but it’s working out. It’s basically a whole bunch of improvised jam tracks that I’m piecing together. Got the Danelectro 59 through Strymon Iridium for the main rhythm guitar and Dano through the EHX B9 on Hammond organ classic rock setting for fill. I started building the song by just laying down a whole bunch of jamming. P-bass track seems to glue it all together. The entire song is only two chords but somehow it sounds pretty good. See what happens. Lots more comping instruments.

                            Apple Green vinyl

This was my album of the year for 2025.
Few NEW albums have given me as much listening pleasure as Who Is The Sky?

At their heart, these songs are quite simple. Incredibly bright, playful, and brimming with personality. The MVP award here goes to producer Kid Harpoon and NYC’s incredible Ghost Train Orchestra. Their work really brought these great songs to life.

There are two gems here in particular that I could listen to forever: "I Met the Buddha at a Downtown Party" (which is wickedly funny), and “The Avant Garde”, which may be one of my favorite Byrne songs EVER.

The album clocks in at a very tight and compact 37 minutes. As soon as it’s over, I just want to start it over again.

GREAT album, and one of Byrne’s best solo efforts.
                            Absolutely love it.

                              (Maple Leaf Logo)

Had a hankerin’ to play this the last week or so.

Gun to my head, if I had to pick my favorite classic rock album of all time, it would probably be the self-titled Doors debut.

I was born a whole decade after this album came out. And when I started REALLY exploring music, most of that late flower power hippie bullshit was never really my bag. Which is why I think I DID respond to The Doors (and some Hendrix).

It just sounded so much darker, more dangerous, and the polar opposite to most of the other music of that genre from that time. A LOT of that music STILL sounds awful to me, but not THIS.

I will never tire of listening to this album. There’s not a single filler track on it. Every song is killer, front to back.

                                1984 U.S. 7” single

A fun one that you can file under “WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK?!?!”

So, the A side of this, “For All The Years (A Tribute To Phil Niekro)”, is a schmaltzy, acoustic love song to legendary knuckleball pitcher Phil Neikro, who played for 4 MLB teams over his illustrious career.

However… THE B-SIDE is why I would have bought this.
                                And here’s why:

There was an episode from Season 3 of The Simpsons called “Homer At The Bat”, where the power plant hire PRO baseball players as ringers to play in the power plant’s softball game.

There’s a goofy song in that episode called “Talkin’ Softball” that I THOUGHT The Simpsons made up.

It’s actually a spoof of THIS B-side, “Talkin' Baseball (Baseball And The Braves)”, and The Simpsons actually got Terry Cashman to sing THEIR version, too.

It took me 20 years to discover this.
                                😂

Another cool 45 rescued from the downstairs catacombs.

For me, this single is all about the two songs on the flip side; “Harry” and “Earwax”, the former having an almost reggae feel to it, until Peter Murphy enters and turns it on its head. It’s literally “island Bauhaus”. Lol.
“Earwax” sounds like all of the famous monsters from history having an acid-fueled poetry reading/seance.

For those that listen to hardstyle, enjoy this one. I made this song before the day I left Florida. Think of it as an emotional hardstyle track. It's called no place I'd rather be. I hadn't made anything yet during the whole trip, because I didn't have ideas yet, but I had this one the day before we left. I made multiple versions and different genres, but this one is good too. There's also a rap version, who wants to hear that one as well? I had to screen record this because you can't download songs with Suno if you're using a free account because of the ordeal with Warner music group. Then I converted it to audio. Enjoy this banger! Let's blow this song the fuck up!

Weird day at the gym. Had to hit about half of Stone Temple Pilots- Core to get moving, but extra time over the thirty minutes was an upbeat Cornershop - Brimful of Asha to finish strong. Kind of fun rediscovering my own music via the random number generator in this cheapy music player.
