        I saw this on Finnish post so let me reformulate it a bit and post it in English.

        Finnish universities 1996:

        "Here's an operating system we created for you. Here's a chat network we created you can use with the operating system."

        Finnish universities 2026:

        "We don't know how to replace FaceBook for public communications."

        Learned helplessness.

                    @voided Our continuous integration setup disables the power supply for some seconds instead of relying on reset buttons and our engineers usually do the same (if a soft-reboot is not enough). Note, that most RK3588(S) Radxa boards do not even have a reset button. I suggest joining -rockchip on the Libera IRC server, which has a bunch of friendly people (incl. some of Collabora) that can provide more interactive help and some might have the specific board being discussed.

                        🆕 blog! “Extracting Video from Motion Photos on Linux”

                        Modern Android cameras can take "Motion Photos". They capture a few seconds of video from before and after you hit the shutter button. You can then either select the bit of the photo where no-one is blinking, or you can send the whole thing as a little movie.

                        Some apps (like WhatsApp) will play the motion photo…

                              @zstg wow I'm the clown of the year: 6.17 reached EOL just 3 days ago 🤡

                              en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_ke -> 6.17 EOL: "18 December 2025"

                              I feel like a nomad at this point. I'll just proceed to 6.18 I guess 🤷🏽

                              I'm still trying to figure out why I made this poor choice. I think, before I updated the packages (including the manjaro-settings-manager), 6.18 didn't show up for me. however, I needed to ditch 6.16 for the upgrade to work 🤔 (didn't want to downgrade to 6.12 because I remember having problems with it)

                              according to the wiki page from above, 6.18 is supposed to be LTS but the manjaro-settings-manager doesn't show the tag for it.
                              but according to this thread it will happen sooner or later
