I was hoping the recent #news regarding #meta in the #court cases would maybe bring a few new #friends to #Mastodon, and I have openly advocated for the #fediverse and even shared #links and #articles that I have found here. Does anyone have any further #advice about discussing #decentralized #socialmedia with people? I think most are reluctant to abandon the convenience that Meta and #X provide. I know a couple of #women who have tried #Substack but they seem intimidated by the Fediverse. It's not that scary once you cross the threshold! I keep recommending hear-me.social as a good place to start!

Ankündigung: Registrierung auf anonsys.net
Bis heute hatte ich für die Registrierung auf anonsys.net diverse Mailanbieter gesperrt. Allerdings war mir nicht ganz wohl dabei, da ja doch einige Internetuser den einen oder anderen Freemailer nutzen und ich solche User für eine Registrierung auf anonsys.net ausgeschlossen habe.
Allerdings möchte ich auch vermeiden, dass sich hier Spamaccounts anmelden und so irgendwelchen Müll verbreiten. Was also machen?
Aktuell habe ich mich dafür entschieden, wieder sämtliche Mailanbieter freizugeben, dafür die Registrierung aber auf "manuelle Freigabe" umzustellen. Das bedeutet also, das man sich ab sofort hier auf anonsys.net mit jedem Mailanbieter registrieren kann, ich aber die Registrierung manuell überprüfe und dann freigebe. Dieser Prozess der Überprüfung und Freigabe sollte normalerweise relativ schnell gehen, da ich über eine Mail informiert werde. Ausnahme ist natürlich eine Registrierung in den Nachtstunden. 😉
Ich denke, dass dies ein goldener Mittelweg ist um eine Registrierung für jeden offenzuhalten aber gleichzeitig Spamaccounts zu vermeiden. Sollte es vorkommen, dass sich hier Spamaccounts mit den typischen Mailanbietern (z. B. GMail) vermehrt registrieren, werde ich mir weiterhin das Recht vorbehalten diese Mailanbieter für eine Registrierung zu sperren.

If you really believe in the silly 500 character limit, then why the heck is everyone posting "3/12" continuation threads?
Either the limit is a good idea, and nobody should post multi-part toots, or its a dumb idea, and should be retired (in favor of a ~6k post limit). One or the other. Cut the crap, already.
I'd 100x rather see long posts shortened with a "See more" button than yet another toot that ends with "1/" 🤦🏻♂️
Forcing people to create threads just to get their thought across is terrible UX, and I'm tired of being diplomatic about it.
