Das #Fediverse ist der digitale Biohof des Internets: Alles macht irre viel Arbeit, es gibt keine Vorgaben von oben, das Marketing sieht aus, als hätten es eine Sechsjährige und ihr Hamster verantwortet, und finanziell ist es schlicht ein Desaster.

Ein großer, rustikaler Scheunenbau aus Naturstein und Holz steht am Rand eines bewaldeten Geländes. Vor dem Gebäude befinden sich mehrere Menschen an Tischen und Infoständen. Auffällig ist eine grüne Fahne mit dem Logo von Bündnis 90/Die Grünen. Links steht ein Lieferwagen, daneben ein kleiner Tisch mit Sonnenblumen. Back during Covid lockdown, I answered a Craigslist ad for a 9-month-old Chiweenie. I've been Jaxon's mummy ever since. Attached is the first photo I took of Jaxon, the day he arrived, and a photo I took today. Same bed; very different dog.
So today's 3 Good Things centers on being a dogmom to a dog with special emotional and psychological needs.
🐕 I am never alone. Like I literally can't even pee by myself, lol 😂 and when I use the bathroom, suddenly he *also* must "go", so I never have to worry about not getting enough sun, because Jaxon will sniff every square inch of the backyard until he finds that one that's the perfect spot to drop his little bomb.
🐕 I am never afraid of being caught at home alone, because Jaxon would gladly gut any strangers like a fish. This is kind of a big deal because I wanted a dog for protection at home. On the other paw, Jaxon has been formally uninvited to the big family Christmas.
🐕 I never have to worry about having cold feet at night. Jaxon sleeps on the bed and puts off so much body heat that winter is never an issue. But don't get me started about summer!

A brown, shorthair Chiweenie puppy, weighing only 9 pounds at the time, lays on my unmade bed, with one front paw kicked out in front of him. His puppy collar is made of blue denim. One ear lays flat against his head, and the other is halfway cocked outward. This was a hard moment to capture, because he was a VERY BUSY little man for the first 5 years. Now at 6-years-old, he has finally slowed down enough to regularly ask for snuggles. He's at his happy best on a bed, which is why there are so many photos of him there.

Another photo of Jaxon laying on my bed, exposing his soft white underside for a belly scratch. One ear is almost laying flat. One ear is cocked out for maximum reception. He now weighs about 16 pounds, and is almost, but not quite, normal. Most of the time.

Boy I was wrong about the Fediverse
It became the only reliable source of information I had. People posted links with a minimal amount of commentary, picking and choosing the best content from other social media networks. They’re not doing it to “build a brand” because that’s not a thing in the Fediverse. It’s too disjointed to be a place to build a newsletter subscription base.

Old #Twitter was awesome for me when it came to connecting with people outside of the "White Male" bubble, and understanding their perspective.
The Fediverse isn't there yet. Not by a long shot. But it should be, and that's what we need to work on.

Am linken Rand hängt eine weiße Fahne mit einem Logo (teilweise lesbar als „CHAMP“) an einem Holzgestell.
Wasser und Landschaft: Auf der linken Seite erstreckt sich das ruhige Meer in schönen Blau- und Türkistönen. Den Hintergrund dominiert wieder eine markante, spitz zulaufende und dicht bewachsene Felsformation, die weit ins Wasser hineinragt (das sieht stark nach der beliebten "Little Bay" / Xiaowan Beach aus).
Der Himmel: Der Himmel ist strahlend blau und von vielen weißen, bauschigen Wolkenfeldern durchzogen.
